There are so many books I want to read, places I want to go, skills I want to master, songs I want to listen to, things I want to learn, stories I want to write, people I want to meet, foods I want to try, movies I want to watch, joys I want to experience. The tragedy of life is that I cannot possibly accomplish all that I want in the few years I will be here. I do not give up, though. I may not be able to experience everything I want but I can fill my life with as many new experiences as possible. Thus I do not do the same thing every day, for that would be a waste.
So I challenge you on this last day of 2013, find a brand new notebook and start writing down everything you want to do. Every book, movie, vacation spot, skill and recipe. Everything. Keep that notebook handy. Stick it in your purse or on your bedside table. Whenever you think of something new you want to experience, write it down. Now your goal is to start checking things off. Leave room for pictures, notes, the date you accomplished it and whatever else you want to include. Let it become a sort of accomplishment scrapbook. Whenever you find yourself doing the same thing over and over or mindlessly flipping through channels, pick up your notebook and pick something.
